Did it.

I never walked. And, as you can see, I failed in my goal to break 40 minutes. I would like to add, however, that about a half mile of the race was a steady uphill climb; had it been a relatively flat course, I’m confident that I would have broken 40 easily. 

Also, my iPod decided to freeze up 10 minutes after we started. So, rather than upbeat songs to keep me pumped up, I had to listen to my heavy breathing which is no where near as motivating.

I’m proud of myself, and excited to keep going.

Edit: Yesterday, I mentioned hoping to finish by the time the music stops. Had my iPod worked the whole time, I would have beaten the end of the last song by 16 seconds. So in some respects I did beat my goal.
